For most students starting college is crossing a new threshold. It’s probably the first time living away from home, first time selecting your own classes, and perhaps the first time paying for education.
Upon arrival, this gateway to learning is probably filled with all the anxiety and anticipation of starting a new adventure. But usually it soon becomes a familiar and comforting place for a student.

Excellent interpretation – double meaning, love it!
Good selection of threshold.
I like this piece, one of life’s most important thresholds. The college looks exotic 🙂

“Gateway to learning”. I like that phrase a lot. Yeah, going to university is a threshold to a new beginning. There are always bound to be good and bad times – staying up late trying to finish that assignment and staying up late and doing whatever you like. Great interpretation on the theme 🙂
Thank you! And what you described is all so true.
