National CROWN Day is July 3

My hair is professional. My hair is dressy. My hair is casual and fun. It’s pretty. It’s cute. It’s age appropriate. It’s whatever you think it’s not. It’s amazing as is.

This is the hair that grows on my head. It doesn’t need harsh, damaging chemicals or to be hidden to be great. It doesn’t need to meet arbitrary standards that were created to keep Africans of the diaspora enslaved. It deserves the same freedom to just be itself like thin, straight hair or wavy hair enjoys.

Create a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair – that’s what the CROWN Act is about.

Urge legislators to vote YES on The CROWN Act. Now that we’ve reached 500,000 signatures, help us reach 1 million by spreading the word!

We welcome everyone to join the movement to end hair discrimination in the workplace, schools, and pools. Sign the petition or send a letter to your Federal legislator using this template! (Tip: Tweak the letter a little with your own thoughts. That really grabs attention.)

Not in the United States? Enter ‘00000’ as your zip/postal code on the petition.
