1. Celebrate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 🖤💛
- Read his works other than the I Have a Dream speech.
- Visit The King Center.
- Attend a MLK Jr. Day breakfast, parade or other related event in your area.
- Commit to do something towards ending poverty which Dr. King desired.
2. Volunteer during the annual day of service 💪🏾✊🏾✊🏿✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻
- Find a related planned volunteer opportunity in your area.
- Or do service with an organization you’re already volunteering with.
3. Shop during the relaunch of My Honey Child hair products 🛍️
- Buy items from this line of natural hair care products founded and owned by a Black woman. Supporting this business is one way to support Dr. King’s mission to create an equitable economic system.
- These high quality hair products made it easier for me to commit to staying natural.
4. Cheer on The Ohio State University Buckeyes 🙌🏾
- It’s been a decade since my university won the College Football Playoff National Championship! You can watch the game on ESPN at 7:30 p.m.
- (Or if you’re Blackity Black on MLK Day, cheer for the other team’s head coach who played at Ohio State. 🤫)
The work of service to all mankind and social justice doesn’t end. On January 21, 2025 join in the National Day of Racial Healing organized by the W.W. Kellogg Foundation. Find an event near you.
