I used to love to bake. I even started a side cake gig called Let ’em Eat Cake. Having a galley kitchen with little counter space doesn’t inspire me bake much anymore. But, I’m still fascinated by interesting cakes, cupcakes and other baked goods. So it’s pretty funny that somehow my new chosen area of focus, content strategy, has somehow become associated with cake (and bourbon).
I attended Confab Minneapolis this year, a conference for content strategists. Betty Crocker just happens to be a sponsor. This year they brought an 18-layer red velvet cake. Now that’s some layers! I even voted for it in the cake-off. I mean the Dad cake was only two layers and the Gender Reveal Cake, while clever, was only four layers. Yes, layers matter.
