Seattle Seahawk Marshawn Lynch, notorious for hating press conferences, delivered two of the most fun non-answers and fans are running with them like crazy.
Thanks for asking.
and then at the Super Bowl Media Day this gem:
I’m just here so I don’t get fined.
Today everyone at jobs all over America rolled in the workplace or posted on Facebook or tweeted a custom version like: I’m just here so I can get a paycheck. Or, I’m just here so I don’t get fired. All tongue in cheek of course.
But why?
Honestly I don’t blame him. I don’t think any sane person would want to face the firing squad also known as the media. I’m not a Seahawks fan so I don’t know much about Marshawn Lynch other than he’s a really good football player, has a beast mode, loves skittles and doesn’t like the media. But it doesn’t apparently apply to all media. Because I saw him being interviewed on an entertainment news show and he is well-spoken, relaxed and, well, pretty fun. He talked about his camp for kids and how he was going to give the X-box One he’d just won to them. It was so good it made me wonder why he doesn’t talk to sports media. Instead of being fined, he could still not answer questions but only talk about his charities. Then he’d not get fined and have even more money to give to the charities. Just a thought.
So Marshawn, what do you think about doing that? Nevermind, I know. I know.
“Thanks for asking.”
